The new face of Saturday mornings on BBC1
New this April to Children's BBC is The Mysti Show. This ground-breaking mix of drama and entertainment for kids features Mysti (played by Laura Aikman) who is half-human and half-fairy and torn between her two worlds.
Each week Mysti and her friends explore life in both worlds, dealing with the universal ups and downs of growing up. Based in Elstree, the production is split between BBC Elstree (fairy World) and Millennium Studios (human world).
As ELP production manager John Singer explains "we were approached by Mystical Productions initially for the hire of our studio facility here at Millennium. But once they saw what else we could provide on site we were commissioned to supply lighting services as well"
Working with Director of Photography Alan Wright and Gaffer Jim Russell ELP provided a broad range of studio lights, Chromabanks, MAC 2000's and LED lighting effects to augment a surreal pink and crimson set.
The series launched on Saturday 17th April and runs for 21 weeks.
