(ELP work at the National Eisteddfod of Wales)
The National Eisteddfod is unique, it is the largest and oldest celebration of Welsh culture which each year visits a different area of Wales. The site is near the village of Meifod about 8 miles from Welshpool in mid Wales.
With over 170,000 visitors and 6,000 participants expected this year, both BBC Wales and S4C will be broadcasting from the festival during 2nd to the10th of August.
ELP, working alongside lighting directors John Penny and Henry Roberts of the BBC, will supply all the TV lighting, theatre and show lighting, power distribution, and rigging hardware.
"The festival encompasses all the art forms, explains crew chief Darren Fletcher, music, theatre, dance, poetry and art exhibitions."
"…We will be lighting many of the main venues, live concert areas, theatres, tents, pavilions, marquees and the TV studios. Each will require a different lighting application and appropriate kit."
The range of equipment being sent over by ELP is enormous. At least five 40 ft trucks packed full of hardware including:
* Over 500m of Truss from Supermega to Litebeam, hung off 40 motors
* 110 moving lights - mac 2000, 600, 500, 300, 250, Chromabanks
* Hundreds of Par Cans, source 4 profiles, fresnels and MSR frenells
* 6 different lighting desks, Hog2, Avo Pearls, Jands 48 way, ETC Express
