
ELP SET THE SCENE FOR BBC FOUR SESSIONS
ELP have just helped launch a new series of BBC FOUR live music sessions.
Recorded exclusively for the digital TV station these sessions seek to showcase varied and unusual acts from around the world.
The first programme features extraordinary Portuguese folk singer, Mariza.
Having recently just won a Radio 3' Award for World Music, she's the crown princess of fado: Portuguese folk music based in its sophisticated café culture.
Lighting Designer James Campbell remarked: " our brief was to re create the intimate mood of a bohemian Portuguese venue to complement this atmospheric style of music"
The historic Union Chapel in Islington was lit with a selection of Mac 500's, Mac 300's, Studio Beams along with Fresnels, Par 64's and Pani long throw followspots.
"We were able to accentuate the intricate architecture and woodwork of the chapel" says Campbell "it provided the perfect backdrop for Mariza.
ELP also provided trussing, rigging hardware and five experienced crew for this one day shoot.
