ELP open film and drama office at Pinewood Studios
Leading lighting production company ELP, has announced the unveiling of a new Pinewood Studios office dedicated to servicing film and drama productions.
MD Ronan Willson this week revealed that from April 2005 'ELP Pinewood' would be fully operational. He is joined by two well known client liaison managers - Jan Wilson and Tanaya Phillips.
Formally with VFG and responsible for the lighting gear on TV dramas such as Heartless, Doc Martin, 55 Degrees North and Midsomer Murders, Jan and Tanaya have been an inseparable team for over fifteen years.
"I have been thinking about a Pinewood base for quite a while" admits the MD.
"…when I saw that there was an opportunity to bring in two managers with the experience of Jan and Tanaya it was an easy decision to make."
Best known for their pioneering work on live TV and outside broadcast productions, ELP has office locations across the UK. Their national distribution centre on the Alconbury Airfield in Cambridgeshire, satellite offices in the North West and a presence at TV Centre in London. But as Ronan explains there are 'specific' plans for Pinewood.
"We are best known for our work within the OB market. And although we have worked on some long running dramas in the past such as Silent Witness and Grange Hill our visibility within this market has been low key. A base at Pinewood will allow us to pursue film and drama work with more vigour."
And its not just ELP's huge capacity for lighting hire that the Film and TV world will be impressed with. From Pinewood they will be able to offer complete production packages including the hire of movie silent generators and power distribution systems.
Additionally the range of services will cover:

* Custom built temporary structures and structural design
* Portable production facilities such as office space or dressing rooms
